Music I listen to

Why, the Moody Blues, of course, although I dearly love contemporary Christian music..Toby Mac and the Newsboys come to mind along with DC Talk, Jennifer Knapp, Kutless and Audio Adrenaline. I will throw on a Mannheim Steamroller CD anytime of year, I think they are extremely interesting musically. And I enjoy swing music, a gift from my parents who came of age during WWII. Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller were wonderful. Puts me In The Mood.... To dance that is!!!

TV shows I watch

House is my favorite show. I also watch Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, I think he is just adorable. For some reason I have been watching Ghost Hunters. TAPS captured my attention and I can't seem to stop watching the two plumbers fix pipes and hunt ghosts. I love the oldies, too, I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show, etc...they are timeless. I also like Coupling, Monty Python and My Name Is Earl.

Books that moved me

I adore the Chronicles of Narnia and still pull them out and give them a read. From The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe to The Last Battle, I never tire of them. I also adore the Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. I have read Gone With The Wind over 100 times, and I never fail to cry when I read Little Women. I love to read and will try anything. My daughter, Sydney is trying to get me to read the Twilight series but I've been too busy!

Movies I like

The Passion of the Christ, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Lord of The Rings, Gone With The Wind, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Whole Nine Yards, Peter Seller's Pink Panther Movies, The Pursuit of Happyness.

Stories I Like To Share

My dad was a professional saxophone player back during the post WWII era. He and his band were pretty good and they had an excellent female vocalist who my dad said was one of the best. High praise coming from my dad. Well, the vocalist decided to quit, and they needed to find another one, and fast. They decided to scout a new talent they had heard about up in Maysville, Kentucky. They went up to Maysville and listened to this young woman, and decided that she wasn't very good and wouldn't amount to anything. I've always wondered what would have happened if they had hired this woman.....who's name was....Rosemary Clooney!!!!

Interesting facts about me

Believe it or not, I love to Bass Fish. You get me on a lake and I just don't want to go home. I prefer to fish for smallmouth with a small artificial jig or tube but I have been known to tie on some live nightcrawlers and go after a big ole catfish or two. I grew up on a farm so I love animals and have several cats, (one of which was born without legs, we call her Nubby) fish and a bunny. Well, the bunny belongs to my daughter, Sydney but I have him while she's at college. Every animal seems to find it's way to my house for a handout, LOL. I really want a Border Collie, we had them on the farm and they are the smartest of all dog breeds, IMHO, but as a working dog I'm not sure it's fair to have one in a backyard doing nothing. I like to play the piano and guitar, read, shop for antiques, go for walks in the woods, stuff like that, but my favorite thing is to spend time with my 2 girls, Sydney and Olivia.

Places to visit before you turn 100

I would love to go to Australia. I have been doing research on my family history and found that my great-great grandfather, Robert Bruce Rutherford's brother, James Jr. migrated to Australia and was one of the driving forces behind Cobb and Company Stagecoach Line. His line of the family still lives in Australia and I would love to meet them.
